NC State's Bonae Holston Earns ACC Sixth Player of the Year Award

Freshman makes big impact off the bench, scores 12.8 points per game in league play

GREENSBORO, N.C. - NC State's Bonae Holston earned the second-annual ACC Sixth Player of the Year honor, announced by ACC Commissioner John Swofford today. The ACC Sixth Player of the Year accolade is nominated and selected by a vote of the league's 12 ACC women's basketball head coaches.

Holston, a freshman from Newport News, Va., ranks second for the squad in scoring with 12.8 points per game in ACC play. She played in all 14 ACC games with no starts and 29 games overall this season with four starts. Holston has 9.5 points per game overall this season and ranks second on the team in rebounding with 5.7 boards per game. She also ranks fourth among league freshman in scoring and rebounding.

The 32nd annual ACC Women's Basketball Tournament will take place at the Greensboro Coliseum, beginning on Thursday, March 5 and will conclude on Sunday, March 8 with the championship contest slated for 1 p.m. ET.
