There is a port beside my usb ports on my dell laptop

It says either b94 or 394 or something 94 but looking on google didn't pull anything up so probably wasn't phrasing it correctly.

anyone know what that says or is there for?

The firewire port is where mac users insert their erect penises.

so what exactly do you do with firewire? i mean, i've never owned anything that used this (of course that doesn't really mean much). is it any better than any other connector out there?

think of it as a fast as fuck USB connector...basically. for external HD's and a lot of video/audio editing shit firewire is used bc of the speed

yeah i have a firewire port for my audio interface because usb can be unreliable as far as latency goes.

I don't think I have a regular firewire port on my new powerbook. I've never seen a device (video camera, etc) that used firewire 800.

I admit, I contribute very little to Tech Talk

But 90% of evan's posts here are belittling someone for not know something or just agreeing with something that's already been posted

The guy doesn't add any value at all

i agree with that part - most of his posts (maybe minus some apple related ones) are just putting some carets in and moving along

that's because usually when i read a thread in here, it has already been adequately addressed by another post

i add things when i think something needs to be added

if you go back and look through my posts in here, yes, i do sometimes belittle people for asking stupid questions, and yes, i do use carats, but i also help people out quite a bit.
