oh shit this could be big

even if we dont win the acc tourney or anything, a win over Maryland (regardless of who's missing) is a chance at revenge that we don't normally get with our shitty scheduling.

i heard reports earlier that Bowie tripped over his dog on the way out of his house, so he could be questionable as well .....and coach williams has been bothered by a bad case of guitar hero elbow

Didn't know where else to put this, but this guy is fucking great.

He pisses all over every team he is about to play... I just heard a quote that he made yesterday saying Memphis would be under .500 in the ACC...

He might be my favorite college basketball player right now. Basically before every game he says something belittling his opponent and then he goes out and drops 20, 10, 5 on them like it's his job.. (duke game excepted).

p.s. - why the fuck am I up at 7am on a Saturday?

I'd like him a whole lot more if he dropped 20 10 and 5 without all the shananigans.

The talking shit and fan taunting is gay as hell.

^ while i don't share your sentiment with Vasquez as the ultimate badass, the boy can definitely play. He's just said some stuff in the past that's made him look like a big loudmouth that came back to bite him. ex: "Oh that's my house" in re: his success at Cameron & then losing by an astronomical margin + 2 more losses. I almost have more respect for Hansbrough than that guy...almost

for some reason I like the guy, yeah he's a arrogant bastard but he backs it up 100% on the court

we'd kill to have a player with that kind of intensity, ability, and drive, at least he give a damn

and yes I did go out on a limb with him giving Memphis a little taste of a real basketball conference

Agreed. Watching Vasquez play a team other than state is actually pretty great.

I think he's a fucking incredible player. Underrated on national level.

My god, drop that shit. it's so fucking old. Whenever Julius Hodge did shit like that, you guys ate it up. It's competition. the shit-talking is ABSOLUTELY part of it.

We watched a little film on 'em one time, and I know they got a good player -- I don't know his name -- but he good or whatever, so we just going to try to do what we do and stop him. I ain't never seen them; I know they got one good player, Sanchez or something like that; whatever his name is."

Terrapins' Vasquez Will Test Draft Waters
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/03/11/AR2009031103646.html

ATLANTA, March 11 -- Maryland guard Greivis Vasquez said Wednesday he plans to declare for the NBA draft after the season and compete in pre-draft camps before he decides whether to return for his senior season at Maryland.

Vasquez said declaring for the draft is a smart move for him because he will be able to see where he stacks up against other top guards across the country.

"Just to see where I am at, just to see who is going to be my competition," Vasquez said. "Probably Jeff Teague [of Wake Forest] will go to the camps because he thinks he is going to be a first-round pick. It will get me better, so if I come back I know what I will have to work on."

he has the talent set to play the 1/2 in the NBA. it's probably a good move for him if he can get picked mid/late first round

Edit:nbadraft.net has him going 58th overall in the 2010 draft, i think he'll go a little sooner than that
