i have tried reinstalling all of the fonts to see if it were a font issue. but that doesnt seem to be the case. anyone of you tech gurus have any idea as to what this might be?

i have searched a few tech forums with no luck and you guys are usually pretty decent at problem solving

looks like you've somehow turned on large fonts, or an accessibility mode theme.

Check your theme (right click on Desktop->Personalize, choose Theme, set it to Windows Vista if it's not on that already)

Then back on the personalize dialog, select Window Color & Appearance, click on "open classic appearance properties" and make sure Windows Aero is selected (or windows Vista Basic, if Aero is not available).

If those two things check out, it's probably a corrupt video card driver

Ok, I'm having a problem too. My Widnows Vista keeps installing the same updates oer and over again. How do I fix this?

go to uninstall programs, view installed updates and check to see if those updates are listed. If they are, uninstall them, then restart comp.

I'm just gonna throw this here so I don't have to start a new thread. I just bought a laptop that has Windows Vista Home Basic. I really would like to do a clean install so I don't have all this junk on it. I tried microsoft.com, but I can't find a vista oem cd...can anyone help me out?

^hp, they let me do it, but it would reinstall all the software too.

I'd like to stay off of torrents too, does anyone have a copy they could burn for me or let me borrow?

you could have downloaded a torrent copy already. seriously, you aren't going to get in trouble for using a legit key just to not have to install all the bullshit

but you could always just do a fresh install with the HP discs then go through and uninstall everything. not as good..but better than nothing
