It's been said a few times before, but this site is virtually irrelevant now. Sports talk seems to be reasonable healthy, sorta, but the other sections are a mere glimmer of their former selfs.

I have to say that a handful of users have succeeded in choking the life out of this place.

I was going to post this in the MODERATOR thread in FF, but I'm sticking it here:

I've been here since the beginning. Generally speaking, the user base was altogether "cooler". Today, not so much. When goatcx started making it's way around the internet, the people that posted even the link to it were dealt with fairly harshly. Dudes being outright dicks to females for whatever reason were dealt with. Today, not so much. I don't have a problem with the occasional NSFW image or people pulling shenanigans like that from time to time, in that way it can be quite funny. But when certain folks make it their M.O. to be that kind of dick, it loses it's funny and they should be dealt with.

This site has become what most other forums like it have become across the internet, a cesspool for folks that went through middle/high school glued to their video games and computers and haven't matured or developed reasonable social skills. For those that are going to be upset by that comment, I'd like to see them come back with a reasoned argument about why my opinion is off base.

All I know is that when I "quit" back in 2005, it was still pretty decent. So my guess is that it started turning to garbage sometime between then and my return in early 2008.

If I had to take a guess, it probably REALLY started turning to shit around the time of the whole EUPHALO bullshit.

It's been a long slow death but if you find the period in time where the ladies were increasingly being flamed for their good looks and occasional attention whoring, you can find the decline in their posting and the rise of the circle jerking by the social inepts that has solidified this forums place in history.

Most of us would put it at around the 2004-5 time frame, which seems to fit as that would put the new generation of posters squarely in the rise of the internet age when they were in high school where they no doubt were able to live on their computers, foregoing useful social skills and crafting the excellent ability to say whatever shit was borne of their Ids that their Ego's would never voice in a face2face setting.
