WTF? You can't really see the girl's face, but from what is visible, she looks mega cute. And the boy is also cute, although in the pic he has this serious/mature look going on as if he is mildly disgusted with something.

I think a better way to put it is "everybody's baby is a terrifying looking alien thing".

They are for the first twelve months or so anyway. Then the more human features appear and they look less like a fleshy little bald worm.

I am not one to think that all babies are beautiful/cute, because some babies actually do look weird and/or ugly, but those babies are definitely cute.

They have got the stereotypical baby features going on which you find in cartoons, movies, and illustrations: full plump face esp. cheeks, large rounded forehead, small button-y nose, sparse hair, and large eyes.

I love the picture in the OP, esp the juxtaposition of the boy's mild frowny face with his lil sister. I find his facial expression to be very emotive and mature.

Some possibilities that come to mind as to what he is thinking:

"Do I have to play with her again?"
"Umm... I just had some yucky cough syrup, can you come back later?"
"I worry about her being brought up in this horrible world."


And the girl is hanging like a lifeless doll...! And it seems like she is looking straight, not down at her brother, as if she is completely oblivious of him! I love her outfit! And the boy already has a popped collar


I just want to squish and pull their cheeks... they are both so cute!

Haha, actually, I have loved babies for as long as I can remember. Random babies and kids in public are for some reason naturally attracted to me and stare at me all the time (maybe it's my big nose!), and even come up to me and talk with me or do hand gestures, and I am good with them. I can make them stop crying and get them interested in stuff (natural talent) and hold their attention for a long time. For as long as I can remember, I wanted a lil baby of my own, and now I have one! And I want more!

i work in a baby store so i've had a lot of opportunity to observe a large sample of the species in action. i've come to the conclusion that MOST babies are cute in an ugly way.

you say that doesn't make since, but think about it. think about like a sharpei puppy or a bull dog in general. totally cute--but in kind of an ugly way.

the babies that aren't cute in an ugly way are sometimes just ugly. BUT i've also found that a lot of ugly babies grow up to be like the prettiest people. and the actual cute babies turn out to be "meh." i was a cute baby, so things aren't looking so good for me!
