old thread was dead.just rented it and i have to vent. i give the movie a 6 based on the fact i've seen a lot worse.

i hope to god the actual people were not as brain dead as they're portrayed in the movie. me and my gf came up with ab 15 things they could have done to get out of their situation and another 15 things that they could have avoided that made their situation worse. the characters actions were so stupid it was just annoying. it's understood that a certain amount of dumb things have to happen for a horror to continue but we most of the movie screamin wtf?!?

one more thing is the fact they say it was inspired by true events
"According to production notes,[3] the film was inspired by true events from director Bryan Bertino's childhood: a stranger came to his home asking for someone who was not there, and Bertino later found out that empty homes in the neighborhood had been broken into that night."

are you kidding me? that was part of what made the movie remotely scary.

I watched a movie on the TWC Free On Demand channel this afternoon that I heard was kind of related..

it is a french film called "Them".. it has english subtitles...was actually really creepy and suspenseful. For those with twc on demand, i'd check it out...
