I was bitching about a girl that I had been dating (she broke it off - by not responding to me) to close coworkers.

One of them decides to act like me and use the information they learned from me bitching to post on a message board she uses. Just acting like I was acting and I would never post that shit online.

The message board (I use it too) was probably gleaned from seeing it over my shoulder when passing by, my fault.

Said girl sees this and all hell breaks loose.

I said it wasn't me, of course she doesn't believe me. She's paranoid and thinks I'm stalking her or some shit.

I was unlucky that someone decided to do that. FUCKIN A'.

I know dude. It IS the worst excuse ever. People bitch about their significant others all the time, I was just unlucky that someone decided to use that information. ARGH.

AND it wasn't nasty things said, it was just the release of personal conversation that was uncool.

There wasn't anything said that was incriminating. She just saw shit that she had said to me posted online. The truth of the matter is that the person didn't get certain details right. That's all the proof I had.

Who cares what some chick who broke up with you thinks. If there's any truth to your story you need to find out who posted that stuff and get revenge. I'm talking some nasty Craigslist gay misc romances section with their phone number and a pic type revenge. Followed by an e-mail to his momma with a link to the CL ad.

Thing is I can't go around work asking if someone will own up to this. Work relationship and ethics issues.

I have asked the IT people if they could track the user who made those posts and they can, but they can't let me know unless it's for business reasons.

You could try telling a few different people different things and then use the messageboard to try to extract that piece of information to narrow it down to the one person who actually did it.
