Wait until she works herself up in a meowing frenzy, record that shit, and put it up on here! It'll be awesome.

My cat, Grits, has been neutered for over 2 years. Friday afternoon he looked me in the eye as he sprayed a part of my surround sound. I was furious, but the look on his face was more like "I'm sorry. I know I'm not supposed to, but I HAVE to." He kinda looked painful.

I called the vet because I didn't even think he could spray anything, being neutered! They told me it was probably a UTI and he needed to come in, unless I could watch him and bring him in Saturday (which I couldn't do) if he id it again, or wouldn't potty at all (never mentioned a behavioral problem!). Said he needed a urinalysis, so I took him in.... The vet said she thought he was just mad at me for changing his litter, and he wanted to show dominance (over the cats he's been living wih for over a year, with no problem!), and she "wants to take an x-ray".

$175 and 2 x-rays later, they tell me he has a behavioral problem! Said he needed to be caged with his litter box for the next 3 - 6 months to "retrain him to use the litter box"! All because he did this 1 time! I paid the bill, but we won't be going back there again.

Not completely related to your story, but still...

my cat was annoying as shit when she was in heat. i couldn't stand it. i got her fixed asap. i used the coupon program thing and i felt kinda sketchy since it is only accepted at some vets and the one i took her to looked homeless, but it turned out ok. i could NOT deal with her anymore. the constant meowing and sticking her butt in everyone's face and on everything and weird secretions. i had to lock her in the bathroom and wear earplugs to be able to sleep at night. she was a moody ass biatch.

but now shes just my baby

I'm definitely a dog guy but I'm cool with cats, don't get me wrong. This one kinda fell in my lap and I didn't/don't have the heart to throw her out or give her to a shelter. She's not even a year old and she's cool as shit for a cat, she really acts like a dog.

But now she's all horny and I have to get her spayed. She's not too loud or obnoxious, but she holds her ass in the air and I'm afraid she'll try to hump me...I'm afraid of that because if she does I'm gonna punt her off my deck and then I'll feel real bad.

^^ My cats are not spayed and I am not getting them spayed. I decided against it, I just felt like they did not need the stress of the operation when they 100% indoor cats and will NEVER go outside unless they are contained. Thanks for the cool ass cats dawg!

In addition to like being touched, they sometimes 'offer themselves' to you (HAHA) make weird noises and appear to be under a spell of some sort (actually they are), however when they are in heat avoid touching them, acknowledging them, or talking to them and it will drastically shorten the amount of time that they are in heat. Also, put a couple of extra pounds on an unspayed cat and they will not cycle as frequently throughout the year.

I'm with you on that one.

Yes, cats can be obnoxious and noisy when in heat, and if you can't tolerate all the responsibilities and "inconveniences" that come with caring for pets, don't get one. Just like declawing, spaying is a cop out. Seems too many pet owners have the "I don't want to deal with a noisy cat a few times a year so *snip*" attitude. If she is an outdoor cat who will add to the feral/stray cat population if not spayed, by all means, spay her. But an indoor pet, let her keep her parts and learn how to deal with yet one of the many responsibilities of owning a female cat.

I swear if there was a surgery that made it so cats don't shit, people would do it.

Not getting a cat spayed simply because it doesnt go outside is really putting it at a disadvantage.....they can get all sorts of problems related to keeping their junk (cancer, infection, etc) later in life. ....have you ever seen a cat with pyometra? not a pretty sight......

i wouldn't!!! i didn't JUST get my cat spayed because she was annoying (although she really was). plus i rescued her ass anyway so i think the person that dumped her needs the lecture about responsibility

i would never declaw her. declawing makes me she is primarily indoor, but i spayed her because EVENTUALLY she might want to be an outdoor cat (like when i don't live in an apt and have a yard). either way, she's gotten out a few times (sneaky bitch) and that reason alone makes me glad that she was spayed. but if they are indoor only cats then yea, who cares. i just know that my cat sometimes thinks it is a really genius idea to sprint out the door every now and then and hide and frolic or whatever she does out in the "wild". and i don't want any baby kitties (well i mean i secretly DO because that would be cute, but the oh so responsible college student in me at the time i spayed her knew a litter of kittens wasn't a good idea).

the funny part is, the spaying didn't really affect her chattiness. i think she's just a natural chatty kathy. she still talks a lot and is awfully friendly with people/things. she's needy. but kittens are not part of her future. which is good because she doesn't seem like the mommy type.

one of the responsibilities of owning a pet is keeping it as healthy as possible. by not spaying/neutering your cat you are putting it at a high risk for several types of cancers and illnesses.

i think she's coming out of it. this cat's cool as fuck normally and I have a really chill relationship with her so I don't want to remove her ladyparts.. but if it means she'll be healthier in the long run then I'll definitely have her spayed.
