yeah really, just wait until you fill out that next job application, and they ask for references. if you say "don't call this person," that pretty much guarantees that they will, or that you won't be considered for real.

^ummm...who includes a reference and says 'don't call this person'? Wouldn't you just not use them as a reference?

^^^ there are a lot of places that will request your former supervisors names, and assume that they can be used as references. i've been applying for a lot of jobs lately, and almost all of the online application systems i've used have requested that information. it's safe to assume that they'll try to use it.

yeah, and it's not like having a year or so gap in your jobs is going to look like you aren't leaving anything out
