I was wondering if anyone has a copy of Dr. Warren's 201 final exam from past semesters? For the first three tests he has sent out an old test as practice; for the final I would like to get as many past semester exams as possible for lots of extra practice. Thanks!

You should consider taking organic distance ed. I took 221 and 223 that way and it was really great. You can listen to the lectures any time you want, pause, rewind, etc. Plus Sandberg is just a really great prof.

Fucking rough for me. Although, I wasn't able to commit as much time as I needed to studying and note taking and all that. The lectures go so fast that its impossible/impractical to take notes.

^ If you're taking it over the summer, especially if its the only one, I would definitely recommend taking it DE. Its cheaper than regular per credit hour tuition. Sandberg has the notes available to print out, but you definitely do need to be able to devote some time and energy to this course.

i'd highly recommend against doing so
normally i'm all for distance ed... but organic is one of those things that you understand a whole lot better when you actually have someone teaching it to you in person.

take novak if you really want to understand your shit. his tests are fairly hard, though. he's my favorite professor at ncsu, by far.
take deiters if you want to understand it enough to get through the class. his tests are much easier.

I can't talk for the intensity of the summer session since I took it online over a full semester, but Sandberg is 10/10. She even gave me her cell so I could get my proctor set up right, so if you have issues or questions I'm certain she'll do her best to help you out.

The course was well put together. Its just like taking it in person, other than the whole office hours thing...although I'm pretty sure there are forums. You just need to commit time to the lectures. I was working a full time plus job and sometimes had trouble getting all the webassigns turned in, and I couldn't really take notes to absorb the material since the lectures are pretty fast paced. There are webassign quizzes in the middle of the lectures to make sure you're watching them which help that though.

You will need to take the lab. I took it my next semester when I was back but its really easy.

I would recommend you take it and anything else you can during the summer (history, literature, Tech Catastrophes) so that you can free up your schedule for the eminent CHE rape.

Thanks, I think I deserve an award as well. It's nice to finally be recognized for figuring out the internet.

As to cheating, I fail to see how asking for old tests to practice is cheating. The webassign problems suck ass and are not even remotely close to test questions so I can understand why someone would want to practice on old tests. I'm pretty sure the tests are different from year to year. Dr. Novak provides access to all of his old Chem tests and encourages people to practice.

Even if it is somehow not ethical to ask for old tests to practice, why not tell the guy that instead of attempting to get him in serious trouble.

I guess I do have a "n00b" point of view if the cool thing is to ruin someone's academic life.

and acquiring old tests IS cheating, unless the professor says that it is fine to study from them and in that case, the instructor typically has to make sure everyone has access to old tests. That being said, if the professor doesn't OK it, it's cheating. Why don't you learn what the academic integrity rules are before defending this idiot?
