If you can pull it off without using municipal water and without using excessive amounts of chemicals, sure.

I've only fertilized once this year and we never water. My lawn is awesome this year. It's all fescue too. The cool rainy spring has definitely helped it grow.

the previous owner of this house invested in great sod

it looks like the intermediate cut at Pinehurst right now

I dont have the best but I am catching up. Ive only been in this house a year so I'm way behind my neighbors. Especially the folks that sodded their whole front yard with tall fescue and their SIL owns a landscaping business. But I've also hired him to do my yard. And since he's weed/feed the yard looks a lot better. Plus this one out of place pine I had cut down last summer really makes a difference with the sun the front yard gets.

hahahaha
you find redheads unattractive
think tan > pale
and care about having the "best" lawn

I though douchebags like you were too good for the internet where there are no gates.

What stillfucksha said, and

I dunno...we might lay down some seed, just because it looks THAT bad. But any significant time or resources? Hell no. There are better things to do and be proud of.

man, my house is the red-headed stepchild of my neighborhood. i just spent 4 hours working in the yard and it still looks like beavis and butthead live here. :/

i don't see anything wrong with taking pride in having a nice yard. i would like to have a nice looking lawn, but i just don't care enough to put forth the effort it requires. i'll do the basic stuff, but fertilizing and such is pretty much out of the question.

is very overrated. I plan to do the minimum amount of yard work possible to keep it looking reasonable when I get a house. I mean I don't want it looking like no one has lived there in 20 years but on the other end of the spectrum there is money and time involved in something too trivial.

And I say trivial because it personally provides me with no satisfaction, but if it does for you then by all means enjoy your nice lawn.

Different strokes I suppose.

you realize spreading Turf Builder and setting up a sprinkler takes a grand total of 20 minutes, right?

^^yep. then you have to turn the sprinklers on every day and ...

i do the minimum. i'm a lawn bum. and frankly, it's not that important to me.

i used to walk past this old lady's yard all the time to and from school

she used to trim the edge between the sidewalk and the yard with SCISSORS

it was hardcore
