Also, I've met the fire marshal who had to deal with all that, since I was on board with a lot of the Centennial Campus Challenge planning.

people were climbing trees, throwing beer cans, setting things on fire, near rioting.... I was just a wee little freshman and thought this must be a part of the normal college experience.... I remember thinking to myself, "wow, I thought all those movies were exaggerations"

^^^ You can blame SG and the Chancellor's office for that shit, not us. Those morons fucked up the ticket distribution and let WAY too many people camp out that had no chance in HELL of getting tickets.

I think there were some estimates of like 10,000 people camping out for 3,000 tickets. That's bound to cause trouble anywhere.



That UNC campout and the distribution for the FSU football game that fall were what really brought about the distro system NC State has today, because both games were demonstrations of such utter and abject failure.

it was fucking badass,

I woke up to a fucking smoldering mess the next morning, slept until 11am that sunday.

They had a band on the porch of reynolds. We stole a barrel that had axle grease in about 1/4 of it and it was bubbling and shit. We also burned a road cone in it which smoked out some fag in one of the dorms.

That was one of the greatest nights in college. Leave it to the RPD (who are all just jealous that they couldn't get into college) to fuck it all up.

Im 30 now and would go back and do it all again.
