It depends. I think ST 311 is harder for the mathematically challenged. However, they both are really easy.

butttt, not knowing all what MA 131 is at state...you can do ALL of ST311 in a TI-83 plus. Regression, Z test, T test, tests of proportions, 2 sample z and t tests, all confidence intervals, mean, standard deviation, IQR, Q1, Q3, Chi-Sq, F Tests, Normal and T cdfs (eliminates the need for any tables that they try to give you)...can all be done in the calculator..and that right there is ST 311/350/360/370/etc ...its all the same thing.

I know a bunch of ST 311 teachers who want concepts written more than answers. Also MA 131 can be done in a calculator.
