This is a fun thread to look back on. Durant is already a megastar and look at the last game for Oden. Jesus christ what were they thinking?

11.5 minutes, 4 pts, 4 reb, 0 ast, 6 fouls.

He was a terrific QB but at this point even I can't defend him. The dogs was one thing i mean black people have their vices just like all races, but stealing people's retirement money is where I draw the line. He really is a douchebag and I hope he rots in jail for life at this point.

Durant is a mega star, he regularly leads his team to 20-25 win seasons

Who cares? He's dominating as a 20 year old kid. He's two years away from being in the MVP race and Oden is two years away from being an above average starter

He's definitely better than Oden, but you're acting like he's Kobe

Kobe didn't have a great season and he's obviously in decline... Durant took major steps towards stardom after a very disappointing rookie season.

Durant will likely be better than Kobe in two seasons. So it's not a stretch to act like he's a pretty big deal.

It's not really reasonable to rip into Durant for OKC sucking.

The guy really has turned his game around and become a star.

It's easy to say Durant is a better player. Of course, had the Blazers taken Durant he could be fighting for minutes while they are still an inside presence away from being competitive.

i still don't think oden has the mean streak to become a dominant big man. he seems too reserved, plus add in the fact that he isn't that great offensively anyway.

^her belt seems necessary

While Durant obviously works way better now, I think Oden deserves one more year before a truly fair comparison is made. Remember, this was basically Oden's rookie year this year and it will take more time for a true post player to adjust to NBA caliber ability (there was hardly anyone tall/athletic enough to guard Oden even in college) than it does for a 6'9" wing.

However, I think that at the end of next year everyone would still say they would want Durant. But give Oden one more year to be absolutely sure.

Kevin Durant is a top 10 player in the NBA.

You think Oden has the potential to be a top 10 player in the league? I don't see it.

haha yeah. The Texans taking Mario #1 just might go down as one of the worst pics ever in the history of any draft. Especially since Young and Bush have turned out to do so well. Especially Young and coupled with the fact that the Texans released the guy that they kept instead of drafting Young because he was their so called "franchise QB" Then they release his ass less than a year later. Fucking hilarious."

i'm really rooting for Oden, but he looks pretty awful out there most nights. of course you have to give him a couple more years to develop and (hopefully) heal, but to be outplayed by joel pryzbila regularly is a bad sign.

Even with Oden the Blazers are still an inside presence away from being competitive. He's been abysmal this series he fouls every 9.6 seconds. Of course he will improve some but I don't think he'll ever be healthy enough to be a reliable all star.
