I haven't heard anything about it so far. Usually there's a few articles in the Technician and a couple of threads on TWW leading up to it a few days prior, but nothing so far this year.

Is it even going to be worth it this semester? Or is it gonna be shitty like last Halloween with Raleigh A.L.E. cops handing out drinking tickets for having a beer in the convenience stores?

The Hillsborough Hike is fun and you should participate. That being said, it become much less fun if you break the law and get caught. Therefore, only consume alcohol on the premises of licensed locations. That means don't chug beer in the Wolf Mart and don't drink on the sidewalk. Go get drunk and have fun.

Or perhaps, the owners of such establishments such as Wolf Mart shouldn't falsely tell students that they have a temporary permit for the hike and that it's ok to have a beer in the c-store, giving patrons a false sense of security right before the Raleigh PD piggies come in and fill their quota books

starting at PB's/EV end this time and working my way to Sadlack's. started near the belltower last year but it was so packed by the time we made it to EV that it wasn't worth it to stand in line for an hour to get in.

Oh, and I don't know of ANY convenience store that has an alcohol consumption license. Just because the foreigner running the place says it's okay doesn't mean it is, whereas restaurants that sell alcohol obviously allow you to consume them there.

A North Carolina State tradition that takes place on the last Friday of the school semester (the week before exams). Participants include current students, alumni and their guests. The event begins at Players Retreat and with the purchase of an alcoholic beverage at every location on Hillsboro Street and unofficially ends at PB's or at the hiker's discretion.
