i just got this email from a chick who apparently doesn't know what her parents' email address is.

I realize you are very concerned about my safety so I did a little research to try and make you feel more comfortable about me going there. Habitat for Humanity is a huge organization that has been doing these sorts of trips for many years not only in general, but also through MC. Last year Marin Catholic staff took 30 kids down to South America (Guatemala) and every kid came back saying they had the time of their life and had no complaints about safety. I realize I am “whiter” than a lot of people that will be down there but with the place we are staying at and what kind of people we will be associating ourselves with Habitat is expecting another safe & life-changing event for our group. I would really love it if you guys let me take this opportunity to not only place myself in the 200 club at graduation but also to have an unforgettable experience. I’m not trying to make you feel bad ect. but I just wanted to let you guys know how much I feel like I’m missing out with all my friends going on a trip for the first 10 days of summer while I get to stay back and watch a baby come out of honks “hoochie.” Trust me, if I didn’t feel safe I wouldn’t be asking you to let me go you guys know how terrified I am of just going on runs by myself on our street. I really hope that you can maybe think about your decision again and Mr. Jaeger said he would talk to you guys if you had additional questions regarding the doubt you have of letting me go on the trip.
