it was just acidic/super fucking bitter. it was just once, and recently with my current gf, which prompted me to survey my friends and make this thread. she doesn't have a yeast infection (my first thought) or anything like that, but she was too embarassed to ask her doc what was up. we researched on the interwebs, talked about other sessions and time of the month. we concluded it had to be because she was a few days from starting her period. she's always been delicious before and after that one that, so we're not stressing it.

I like the smell.

I'm a geotechnical engineer and grew up on a farm. I've smelled plenty of soil. You can smell some odors around freshly tilled or disced soil. There are nitrates and phosphates in it that could produce the smell.

Also, it could be that the plants in that area release chemicals that may have odors. I know corn and tobacco and soybeans all have a particular odor during different times of their growing cycles.
