Have you ever reached too far under the bed with the wrong arm and felt your trapezius pull?

I did this last night with my right arm reaching to the back of a cage. I reached too far, and without any pulling, warning, or anything - WHAM! I thought my arm fell off! The muscle knotted up so bad I couldn't let my shoulder down. It took my breath away and I flopped on the bed unable to move or breathe. I got an ice pack and took some advil, and just laid there the rest of the night. Eventually I could let my shoulder down and move my arm. Today, I can hardly look to my left, my neck and top of my trap. muscle hurt to touch.

Definitely the worst pain I have ever felt, granted I've never broken anything or had kids... but if you have done this before, you know how bad it hurts! I've had it pull a little before, but never that bad.

No, reaching under the bed is the most common way it happens... but this time I was not under my bed. I was reaching into a cage.

I've pulled my shoulder while at work once and started screaming at the front desk. good times. it was painful. Steam burns hurt badly, and broken ankle's are a bitch, but the worst pain I've ever had was a severe case of strep throat.

severely pulling something in your neck/back, at least you can immobilize your shoulder/arm.
kidney stones
any sort of bone fracture
tooth extraction (wisdom teeth being the worst)
most burns
major puncture wounds (nails, wood staples, etc)

(not that i've had all of these, no kidney stones yet)

and yes, i've 'pulled' my trap before. (yay swimming)

although i've never had these, i'm gonna go with

natural child birth
3rd degree burns to a significant portion of your body
large bones being broken (femur, hip, etc)
decapitation

You're not going to feel decapitation, I wouldn't think. Maybe the first second or so of it...but unless it's something like a tree branch doing the job (or an executioner with a dull ax) probably wouldn't hurt all that bad. And it would certainly be over soon.

i wasn't talking about a guillotine or something medieval when they used sharpened mechanical devices to do the trick. i meant a guy with a kbar or something.
