Right now my cd player makes a lot of static noise. Where is the cheapest place to either get the CD Player or Speakers replaced? I know Best Buy does it and sometimes offer free installation but not sure if they still do it. Where is installation cheapest? Who will diagnose the problem for free so I can buy parts cheap online, or is there a place that sells them cheap?

if you go buy a new head unit somebody from the garage would probably install it

is it just when it's playing a CD or does it not play in tuner mode?

My Fm tuner works fine.

^^I'm not a tweaker, I just try to fix a lot of things myself. Never overclock anything and the only thing I mod are video game systems.

then it is the head unit

[Edited on May 3, 2009 at 11:45 PM. Reason : if you are technical enough to mod game systems you can do this yourself]

What kind of connections are behind the head unit. Are they plugs or wires and if they're wires do they needs to be soldered or twisted or clipped into the head unit? I've heard of a lot of people doing it themselves so I'm guessing it isn't too bad.

it'll come with a wiring harness. you splice the vehicle's wires to the harness and that plugs into the back of the head unit.

google is bound to give you plenty of information

[Edited on May 3, 2009 at 11:49 PM. Reason : there will also be an antenna connection, but that usually just plugs right in]
