For starters, I would cancel the fuck out of this show:



Overall I'd like for there to be more cartoons with relatively few stand-alone episodes and avoid monster-of-the-week type stuff (there's nothing wrong with the occasional fun or silly episode, but nearly every episode ought to make some kind of noticeable progress towards the current story arc). They should be mainly plot-driven, but there ought to be lots of character development and growth. And continuity should always be taken into account; if something big happens in one episode, its consequences need to be felt later on instead of everything magically being tidied up. If you miss an episode, you should feel like that you've missed out on something.

I guess what I want is more "mature" story-telling. That doesn't necessarily mean more violence and adult themes, although that might not hurt depending upon what cartoon we're talking about.

This is a little off topic, but I dont see why sponge bob got so much of a nostalgic following from our generation. I knew a guy in his 30's who said he enjoyed the show. It just wasn't funny enough to me. Now the new cartoon (dont know the name?) with captain kanuckles and the sailor boy is funny. That shit is ren and stimpy funny. And btw I dont get stoned.
