^ that's not true...if someone used your format, you would still know, but you'd have to resort the numbers from the pattern you're using to a more familiar or accepted pattern

^^nah, it doesn't even specify which Y/D/M is which.

Today could be 2501/02/29 or it could be 0200/52/19

this is true, but the notational use of YYYY, MM, DD implies a particular order...otherwise, it's actually only ####/##/##
