Two years after graduating it's back to NCSU to start graduate school.

I'm aware that doing grad stuff at your undergraduate school is not recommended, but it will suffice for my purposes. And, if nothing else, I'm more excited than I can describe just to be doing something again, or rather, doing something that will develop me as a person and not just some shitty part-time employment with no future.

Speaking of which, you can also use this thread to let me know about shitty part-time employment opportunities with no future. I'm poor as shit.

For some reason I'm more sure than usual that this thread will end badly, but fuck it, you guys ain't tearing down my good mood.

Good luck, B. Stay focused.

if you don't, you'll be back to your old crappy job...with the debt of a few semesters pulling on your dangly parts

I've even been sober for two whole days leading up to it! Which is roughly equivalent to 50 years for a normal person. So I'm pretty proud.

It depends upon what you're doing, really. Plenty of fields this is perfectly acceptable to do, especially if all you're after is a master's.

^^International Studies, which includes more than its share of BS but which serves particularly well to get into the career I want.

^True, that's what I've been telling people. All I want now is a Masters, which hopefully will be adequate to get me on a career track that might involve more academic stuff down the line -- just not with me paying for it.

why so serious? you can drink in grad school, yo. though i suppose this is KIND OF cute. like an elementary student that picks out their first day of school clothes a month before going back to school

At the moment this is sadly not the case.

Haha, I was just looking at my schedule for both summer sessions -- out of 4 classes I'm taking, 3 of them are in the same room. I will shortly be as familiar with 212 Caldwell Hall as it is possible to be.

The thing is, none of the classes that are in that place are core IS ones. Go figure.

Past Grumpy made it a point to make sure there was no liquor in the house today, so I wouldn't be able to drink tonight. Present Grumpy is not pleased with Past Grumpy. Future Grumpy will thank him, though.

You should get a stats or a math minor, I could see you liking something like that (based on your Tdub posts).
