insanely predictable output.

I started giving a shit about NC State football the year after Rivers left. I have been through the worst of the Amato years and none of the glory years.

The Tom O'Brien teams are so much more predictable and consistent its like being in football heaven. I dont have to tell you how crazy inconsistent the Amato teams were.

I can not understate how much NC State football is going to explode in the next 5 years.

God Bless Tom O'Brien.

if TOB is "predictable" than every defense in the conferance should be able to walk all over us.

I'm confused is meant by predictable here. Because we are "predicted" to do well? But if we don't, then TOB is not very predictable is he.

5 years to an acc title is more realistic. or an acc title in that 5 year span I mean.

so is that wishful thinking or is that a reasonable prediction? what exactly is TOB being predicted to do?

translation for the one with no grammar skills:

you always know what you're going to get from TOB

not really...BC couldn't predict he was going to leave for us, we can't accurately predict if we'll even make a bowl next year, its just hopes and dreams at this point. nothing is guaranteed.

Remember how with amato you never knew what kind of team it was going to be? Obrien is up front about how the team is doing and how good we'll be.

With Amato the team could play well one game and be terrible the next, or the rest of the season for that matter. With Obrien, you can bet the farm that at the very least the team will improve throughout the year.

Because of this, if we start the year off well and look very good against SC then we will definitely be a good team this year, barring injury of course.

That's what I like about Obrien and if you want to call it consistency then that's fine with me.

^actually, I always expected shit from Amato. Greatness from Rivers, but absolute shit from Amato. Pretty predictable every season.

ACC championship within the next 5 is a reasonable prediction, at the very least in the ACCCG.

National championship or undefeated season is wishful thinking.

I like TOB a lot, but he doesn't recruit well enough to compete for a national championship at this point.

YOU KNOW THE TEAM IS GOING TO PERFORM WELL!

There is a certain standard they play to.

They dont just chock the entire thing away or ,so far, have games where everyone is like "wtf just happened"

for god sakes tob = good

I mean, if you have struck that UMD home game in 2007 from memory, then yeah. Actually, I agree with the thread sentiments, but lets be real here, even at BC they had the random let down from time to time - hello, D Evans?

that's so nice to see. every year he picks up a couple of good O-linemen, then DEVELOPS them

instead of Amato bringing in 350 pounders that jumped the snap once every set of downs....what was that fatass from North Meck's name? kid couldn't stay still . . . left early for the draft too
