I would be upset about IHOP if I weren't moving out of west Raleigh shortly. Never been to Jackpot, but it would be tragic to lose the house it's attached to--while in miserable shape, it could be restored to a beautiful Victorian in the right hands. Unfortunately the combination of it being pretty far gone, plus Jackpot's presence, will be its eventual doom I think.

That they're currently reselling as residences and building infill development around, transforming the end of the street near St. Mary's into quite a desirable neighborhood? (Within steps of Krispy Kreme helps!) Also I'd rather have an out-of-place restored house than an empty lot or a bland concrete government box, which are generally the two things that replaced the houses on Blount that didn't survive.

The problem is that they're not selling. Somebody who can drop a million on a house and then drop hundreds of thousands more on restoring it generally doesn't want to live at the intersection of two busy roads like Blount and Peace in a house that smells like donuts 24 hours a day.
