Is being held in Cary at the USA Complex for anyone interested. It started on Saturday and continues through this coming Saturday. Emporia State Univ. and Lynn Univ. are the two in the driver's seat, each at 2-0.
Belmont-Abbey is the "local" school. They made some storybook run in their conference/then regional tourney to get this far. They are 1-1 and play Mesa State Univ. in an elimination game Wednesday night.
Doubt many of you will care, but I've been working out there and it is actually good baseball. Lots of good/close games.
Games on Wednesday are at 3 and 7, same with Thursday. Friday is an if-day and Saturday is championship day. 5/27/2009 12:00:43 AM |

Yes, they are usually pretty tough year-in year-out. Don't know how they faired this season.
Mt. Olive won it all in '08 so they are the co-host this year along with the Town of Cary. Would be cool if Belmont-Abbey found a way to win and keep the championship in the State. 5/27/2009 12:03:34 AM |

I will be going to the Belmont Abbey game tonight. I live less than 2 miles from Abbey and followed their run in the regional. They were the lowest seed in the regional and did not lose to advance to Cary. 5/27/2009 10:56:20 AM |

Abbey won again tonight. They will play Lynn University on Thursday at 7pm. Lynn is 2-0.
The 3pm game is Emporia State (2-0) vs UC-San Diego. This game (on paper) should be bad ass. 5/27/2009 11:26:30 PM |
