I'm living the dream right now. I work out when I want. I garden when I want. I play the stock market when I want. I take some classes in some shit I really like (hint it isn't networking crap) when I want. I don't answer to customers crying because their router went down, and I don't work overtime like a dog.

Asking someone if they got a job in the middle of the worst downturn in a generation is about the dumbest fucking insult I think anyone could imagine, so it's no surprise you've used it a few times now.

I mean, I didn't give you a detailed list of what I do every day, but looking for work is certainly on there. I also breathe, drink water, eat, and shit on occasion.

There is no reason they can't get quality folks for this job market. From my discussion with many other folks that are job seeking as well comments from guys at the ESC, this seems to be the norm right now. People simply aren't going to be hiring for capital intense projects until they know they can sell what it is they want to make. I could go on and on about the job market right now, but suffice to say there is really no reason for anyone in high tech that wants to stay where they are to get worked up about not getting a job yet. The jobs just don't exist.

If you are really serious about finding a job and aren't finding anything, check out Southern Company. We've got several open reqs for electrical folks. I know you took some power classes, so that would certainly be in your favor.
