i was front row in the NCState endzone. i was a junior in high school and it was my sisters' freshman year at NCState. somehow the Agromeck picked us out to place as a centerfold in the 2004 NCSU yearbook with the caption "NCState students cheer on from Jacksonville"

i committed a year later.

i was in the band for that one. The night before was also fun, celebrating New Years in the hotel with one weary security gaurd wearing a party hat trying to get everyone to quiet down (and failing)

No, it was just NC State fans being delusional.

Notre Dame's entire offensive line was hurt and we injured their QB very early in the game. Notre Dame was a mediocre team and if they didn't have name recognition no one would even remember the game.

Overall the season was a huge disappointment as we blew a good start to the season by losing three straight games to mediocre ACC teams. If not for

A) Adrian McPherson throwing the FSU game and subsequently being kicked off the team

B) The Gator Bowl knowing we would travel well despite being only the 4th or 5th best team in the conference and selecting us


That amazingly overrated victory would have never even happened.

Notre Dame has lost 70% of their games this decade, we beat them with a backup Oline and QB. Woohoo.

This win wasn't 1/10th as impressive as the Minnesota comeback which rarely gets mentioned or even the Kansas throbbing for that matter.

but having played on the team the year we were in the tangerine bowl v.s. kansas


they were cans and that wasnt a solid win, the gator bowl win was more impressive just because of the drama

kansas was not a very good team

No Kansas wasn't that good but we beat the shit out of them. The Notre Dame game is only remembered because we thought it was the turning point for NC State football. We thought we were going to build on a mildly successful season (yet clearly vastly overrated)

It ended up being just a brutal set-up for a horrific next five seasons.

I was there with a group of friends behind one of the endzones. It was split half ND fans, half Wolfpack fans. There was some great shit talking that day. I especially like it when the crowd started chanting RUDY RUDY when a walk-on came on the field in the 4th quarter for the pack and made a tackle.
