its a basic tarantino type of movie, but i felt the slow parts were worth getting through for the ending, it wasn't any 'epic' ending or anything, but entertaining

^^i think you gotta consider the type of films death proof and planet terror are paying tribute to when watching either one. i thought they were both done really well in glorifying the quarks of b-movie/exploitation/grindhouse films and a lot of what i loved about death proof is quentin's attention to detail in paying homage to that style.

I feel the dvd is a lot slower because they added in a lot more crap to draw it out so that it wouldn't seem like such a rip off to market Grind House as two different dvds.

^^^I'm totally aware and have seen plenty of the "genre" of films they were paying homage to. I just didn't enjoy it. I though planet terror was a lot of fun to watch, but I didn't like Death Proof. To each his own I suppose.

Planet Terror is garbage that's fun to watch once.

Death Proof is a fine film.

With that said, the theatrical version is much better than the DVD version.

Don't get me wrong, there are good bits, but I was much more entertained by the fact that they shot the movie twice, with and without Tony, so that Rebel Rodriguez wouldn't know that his character dies.

Planet Terror is good in that it has a good amount of action, rose mcgowan is super hot (and the blonde chick too i forget her name, even with her bleeding eye shadow), and a bunch of zombie shooting up. Just a good fun movie watching experience.

Death Proof was decent, but i hated the second segment of it. There is too much bullshit talking and not enough exciting stuff. At least the first segment they are all out at the bar doing whatever and kurt russell is actually a normal person for a while and he was really funny during that whole scene. The car crash scene at the end of the first segment wins at life.
