sunroof motor on my 2002 saturn SL2 now clicks when i use it...how hard/expensive are these things to replace? i'm driving this car into the ground, never planning on selling it until it simply doesn't work anymore...if i never use the sunroof again, that's okay, but if it's not expensive or hard to replace, i'll do it

S-series sunroof issues are exactly why I didn't order my SL-1 with a sunroof.

actually, i might have an SL1...i don't really remember...i bought it used, so i wasn't being extremely picky

either way, it looks like hella work i don't want to do...i guess it'll be a moonroof from here on out (or is it the other way around?)

Does it still operate, just clicks while it's moving? Or clicks and nothing happens?

You could always make it a manual sunroof , just rip the motor out and open close by hand! Looks like a pretty easy repair though. Just get a case of beer and a couple of friends on a Saturday and knock it out. While you're in there you can clean out all the drain tubing and the guide tracks, which will keep it working well for another 20 years

--------------

The rear driver window on my SL2 has broken, any awesome forum post on how to fix the window roller, so my damn window will roll up and down again?

^ it doesn't even open anymore...the guides are fine, but the motor is shot (i think)...i might just make it manual, though

i had forgotten that you had a saturn DD...they're not pretty cars (the old ones aren't, anyway), but it's been crazy reliable so far (knock on wood)

^Manual

^^Oh yeah, I have the same gameplan you do. I thought she was finally going to shit the bed last year, but a new radiator and she's back to normal. Currently 180k miles, still on the original clutch. Damn car really is pretty bullet-proof *knock on wood*
