you can get it in NC, but i don't know if you've ever tried it...every person should have at least 100 brooklyn browns before they die
6/18/2009 7:11:31 PM
...you can't get every NY beer everywhere in NY - what kind of crappy thread idea is this
6/18/2009 7:12:56 PM
well they have alot of different styles that never make it out of NY..my friends restaurant is planning a beer tasting with brooklyn, and they are thinking of bringing several bottles of the master brewer's festival beer (he makes different versions of beer for festivals, which are only seen and tasted once ever and never reproduced). Also, a version of brooklyn 1 that is aged in a woodford reserve cask... I don't think I will be able to find that thoughidears!! SO SPILL ALREADY!!^And this is more of something that I would like to try that is common up here... like red oak in NC- I don't think I would be able to find that here[Edited on June 18, 2009 at 7:15 PM. Reason : don't hate in my thread ]

pick up some Southern Tier stuff (UberSun, Mokah and Heavy Weizen are good choices) or some Troegs (Hopback Amber, Sunshine Pils)
6/18/2009 8:51:47 PM
what part of ny are you in
6/18/2009 8:55:19 PM
long island- right outside of farmingdalei got brooklyn weiss- never seen that before, and it's pretty good. Alot of flavor, and 5.1%... we need this down south (or other people need to tell me where to find it!)tomorrow I will look for some more exotic stuff (ie: ^^'s stuff)

yeah, i mean the only one that pops into my head right away is brooklyn brewery. BUT, i haven't personally tried any of their stuff, so i don't want to highly recommend something i don't know all too much about.

anything from Captain Lawrence, but it may be a tough find

I've got a crazy idea:ask somebody who's in NY where to find good beer in NY.

most places have the same standard beer selection as we don in NC, so you really need to go to a beer store to get something interesting... but we took care of it, so it's all goodthank you to the several of you who gave constructive answers and didn't hate on the thread (I'm not lookin at you mr badu!)
