This sounds so much more awesome than a beer festival, especially if they serve the superior eastern style BBQ.

This summer I'm going to every festival that has something to do with beer and live music.

if you weren't a DD for it, you'd be singing a different tune... I had fun, but yes, they need more BBQ vendors (they only had one last time- I didn't even get any)

It was a blast other than the lack of BBQ and it being a little hot...

they've supposedly tripled the barbeque vendors and are guaranteeing that they will not run out of barbeque during the event.

I had an AWESOME time last year. yes it was hot, but it was great.

I also highly recommend going to a bar afterwards in the late afternoon and seeing the looks on people's faces judging you.

Hah, we did that after the wine festival a few months ago. We ended up (5 drunk people) at the mexican restaurant in MacGregor Village. We were loud and obnoxious and got all sorts of dirty looks. It was great!

I'm not even that big of a barbeque fan anyway, so I'd rather the barbeque lines be longer. more bourbon for me.

well if I remember right, the one I saw ended with about twenty people trying to steal a two story tall inflatable beercan.

imo pretty damn good if you aint with relatives

bring hickory for the bonfires

oh, the bourbon is great... i found my "new" favorite out there... unfortunately I sampled too much and forgot what it was called

this time i'm bringing a sharpee and writing it on my arm, so i can have visual evidence when I get home

I tried that for the beer festival once. I was incapable of operating a sharpee by the time I found beer that I really liked though.

there were still some tickets for sale last time, but you can get them cheaper in advance (and they might have group rates)

VIP (6 hour tickets) are sold out. Normal tickets (4 hours) are 65% sold.

I went to the one in DC. The lines for the BBQ were long as fuck. But the beer/bourbon lines were short, so a good time overall.

Same here! The only problem is that my friends are a little worried about it being hot. I hope it is like last year when it was about 80 degrees outside.

I am craving Baker's right now. They need one of these festivals in Florida. What weekend is this festival? I may have to visit.

My husband bought a 4-pack of VIP tickets. "The Boys" are going to this thing. I'll be their DD, dropping them off and then picking them up later. Should be...entertaining.

Jaime, that's brave. The boys are the daves, eric and buck? Or aaron in the mix?

Sounds like you're gonna need a bigger truck. Dangerous.

I think it's Dave W, Eric, and Brandon going with him. Brandon is my [creepy] coworker you met at Macs that one time. The one who told me how beautiful you were...for 20 minutes.

Haha. The one that was getting really touchy feely despite the fact that I was there with another guy.

He should be a very entertaining drunk!

Not really. He gets all philosophical when he drinks. Tries to have deep conversations. It's kinda weird.

My sister did that for my crowd last year. It was very nice of her because I couldn't have drove home. This year the crowd I am going with has parents who live right around the corner.

i recommend eating a large meal before going and having a large meal waiting for you in the car for the ride home

3 BBQ vendors isn't nearly enough for a a few thousand drunk men
