Anyone have any feedback from the summer session of his course? I know we don't have to do the project that is done during the semester, and i've heard he kind of curves the class to divide the class evenly.
Also is anyone else taking it? 6/22/2009 1:33:09 AM |

It was ok, not bad, not great. Definitely a plus not to have the project if you've got other classes or work during the summer. He's a great teacher, and is firm but fair.
One of the only sore points that stuck out was that you will want a TI-89 if at all possible. I remember there were some tests that he literally said for those of us with calculators lower than a TI-89 you would need to explicitly write out the process (since they weren't capable of doing the calculation), which can take up a good scratch page or two for one test problem. If you had a 89 or higher, you could do some fancy shmancy stuff it was able to do and he would be ok with it. 6/22/2009 2:34:55 AM |

i took it a few years ago i didn't think it was that bad. just do the homework and you should be able to get an A on all his tests. 6/22/2009 2:41:56 PM |

I will be taking him this summer as well. I wanted to take Ro or Buckner. I had him for vibrations and he was a good teacher and fair in grading. 6/27/2009 4:13:09 PM |

I am currently taking it and do not like his style really. He has not provided answers to the Homeworks so It kind of sucks to have to just hope you get it right. Anybody that had Buckner before or Wu have pdf passwords or HW solutions? 7/6/2009 10:06:57 PM |

I'm trying to adjust to his teaching style. It is different than Tran's in Vibrations. I want to analyze some systems like in Vibrations, but he teaches it a faster way. It's taking some adjustments. 7/6/2009 10:19:49 PM |

I just do not enjoy the way he doesn't go through full problems like on the homework. Also the book in this case is little to no help as far as examples. Currently trying to crack the pdf password on Buckner's online solutions. To no avail.

I didn't think the hw was too bad. What was giving you the most trouble? 7/7/2009 1:20:41 PM |

The electrical problems. Him doing that one today helped a good bit. I am currently transcribing the homework problems into my book to use on the quiz tomorrow. 7/7/2009 9:31:09 PM |

I had him for vibrations and liked him, now for controls I dont know if its b/c its the summer but just does not have the same way of teaching. I dont remember him ever having this many errors in his notes, and kind of annoying because i dont know what to correct because he does not show it sometimes. 7/9/2009 7:35:00 PM |

Yea, pretty hard and not much related to our homework. Too theoretical I think... 7/14/2009 6:11:18 PM |

Got an A somehow, was really thinking I was going to get a B but I guess I did better on the final than I thought. 8/7/2009 9:53:03 PM |
