Do you guys actually make something or do you just sign up for something that you can run to the store and pick up right before the pot luck? I do the latter and it has saved me on multiple occasions when I totally forgot about it. Drinks or chips are the ticket.

If I actually like my coworkers, I'll cook them something. If I don't give a shit about them, they get a bag of Tostidos and a jar of salsa.

If everyone brought store bought cookies or chips, potlucks would suck. That said, my wife usually cooks something awesome if we go to one.

I have noticed that the married guys tend to bring good food in fancy insulated dishes that one could expect to receive as a wedding present. That said, if I had a wife I'd totally make her cook something good too.

We had one once where everyone brought a different Mexican ingredient, like one person brought meat, one cheese, lettuce, tortillas, etc. And then we all made what we wanted. That was kinda neat. Usually I cook something though if it's a normal one.

Now if they could come up with no-edge brownies, it would be awesome.

I usually do some sort of appetizer for a dish- like deviled eggs, or my sausage cheese balls... something that takes a little bit of time and effort, but not much, and is always a hit

AlliePaige always makes me bring them whenever there is some sort of get together... they are delicious and easy to make (i got worried because when I was in alabama I found a frozen premaid version, but that hasn't hit the stores up here yet- plus I have a secret ingredient now as well)
