I re-upped my Sirius with a similar deal.

They are doing it dirt cheap now because you have to buy a new unit to get both. I guess they figure it's better than losing customers who are pissed about having to buy a new unit if they want the other service.

I never even called to cancel it before, the bank issued a new card because I had gotten drunk and lost mine, I did not give them the new card because I was not using the radio anymore, that was at least 3 years ago.

The difference now is I drive close to an hour each way for work. It would not be worth the regular monthly subscription cost but to pay for a year at 1/2 off is not bad. I have pandora on my phone and unlimited data but sometimes that gets old and I want to listen to the news shows now....

getting old sucks

I would never listen to regular radio again. It was worth $13 a month for me for 3 years, so it is damn sure worth $7 a month to me now.

Shit, Sirius is worth it just for the NASCAR in car shit. I got a home docking station for mine and I watch the race on the TV and flip through the drivers' audio on my Sirius.

I love npr, bbc and xnpr, so I will never go back to regular radio. XM is the bomb.

For music, backspin 65 is teh wins.

Jason Ellis Show ftmfw.

They're probably trying to get back old customers now that they're looking at bankruptcy. Who would have thought that satellites were so hard to pay off?

I got an e-mail this morning saying that they're tacking on a $1.97/mo "royalty" fee to cover the rising costs of artist copyrights.

I called up immediately to cancel my subscription and was offered $38 for 6 months or $77/year. I opted for the 6 month deal and was on my merry way after only 5 minutes on the phone with the rep.

This comes after paying full price for the past 4 years. Damn I'm a sucker...
