Just like with:
Quote : | "The Mark Foley scandal, which broke in late September 2006, centers on soliciting e-mails and sexually explicit instant messages sent by Mark Foley, a Republican Congressman from Florida, to teenaged boys who had formerly served as congressional pages. Investigation was closed by the FLDE on September 19, 2008 citing insufficient evidence to pursue criminal charges.[1][2][3] The scandal has grown to encompass the response of Republican congressional leaders to previous complaints about Foley's contacts with the pages and inconsistencies in the leaders' public statements.[4][5][6][7][8] There are also allegations that a second Republican Congressman, Jim Kolbe, had improper conduct with at least two youths, a 16-year old page and a recently graduated page.[9][10]
The scandal led to Foley's resignation from Congress on September 29, 2006" |
-wiki (just as a refresher about that scandal)
They've hit others with it too. For Larry Craig that left out the D or R letter altogether but had several labeled republicans saying this unlabeled senator was a bad person giving the impression he was a democrat.
Fox never wants to blame a sex scandal on the traditional family values party.6/24/2009 3:18:17 PM |

^ Fox does this kind of thing all the time.
If I were pedantic enough, I could make a perpetual thread out of it... 6/24/2009 6:00:39 PM |

This shit happens all the time on every network. Couldn't this have gone in the... FOX News thread? Is this really thread worthy at all? I've seen Dems labeled as Reps and vise versa on CNN, MSNBC, and FOX countless of times. I somehow doubt FOX intentionally did this. 6/24/2009 6:05:05 PM |

Quote : | "John Eric Ensign (born March 25, 1958) is the junior United States Senator from Nevada, serving since January 2001. He is a member of the Republican Party and the former chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee." |
Quote : | " Extramarital affair In a statement on June 16, 2009, Ensign admitted he had an extramarital affair between December 2007 and August 2008 with a female member of his campaign staff.[10] The individual, unnamed by Ensign, but later identified as Cynthia Hampton[11], worked for Ensign’s campaign operation, Ensign for Senate, and for the conservative political action committee, Battle Born PAC, of which Ensign is the honorary chairman, from December 2006 to May 2008" |
Quote : | " Fox News received Doug Hampton’s letter about Sen. John Ensign’s adulterous affair three days earlier than the network reported, according to information obtained exclusively by the Las Vegas Sun.
Fox said it didn’t receive the letter until June 15, when it arrived as an attachment to an e-mail. But FedEx tracking of a "priority envelope," which a reliable source said contained the hard copy, shows it was delivered on the morning of June 12.
That would mean the national news organization had additional time to investigate and report Ensign’s affair before the senator’s own admission of the relationship with Hampton’s wife, who worked for the senator’s leadership political action committees. The earlier delivery date also leaves a larger window of time for someone who either worked at the conservative network or was close to it to tip off Ensign." |
