The little boy claims he was a pilot killed in WWII and draws pictures of WWII airplanes. He can explain everything about them even though he has never had any sort of training that would allow him to know that stuff.

He knows the names of the guys who served on the ship that he did. vets who are still alive confirm his story even though they have never met him.

11 year old James knows about the dead pilot's (also named James) sister's painting of her that was painted by her mother. Only James, Annie, their other sister, and dead mother know about the painting.

Summary

Basically a kid acts like he's some reincarnated war vet. Then the parents make a lot of money and fame off of it. It's a typical reincarnation news story where most of the story is told by his parents (the mom in this case). The kid isn't really interviewed much, the emotionally driven women do most of the talking, the dad sits back like a tool and confirms it, and the kid makes a proverbial statement about life.

i'll summarize

kid draws pictures of ww2 planes and has dreams of dying in a plane. he knew the name of the ship and people on it and recognized the faces of the crewmen and could discuss them by name. they tracked down the family of the guy he was and the little boy had discussions with the sister about their childhood talking about the paintings their mother used to make for them and other specific information.
