We are currently tied with VT at 27%. Actually things like this could help us win. If we get some hype around our program and recruits buy into us being a program about to do big things, then perhaps they'll jump on and help us win. Now you will get cases like Derrick Favors where it didn't matter what school he went to, he had pretty much made up his mind that he wanted to stay close to home, regardless if Paul Hewitt is a worthless coach. But that's basketball where kids can be one-and-done. In football they have to stay for three years before going to the pros, and many kids would like to get away from home for those years even if it's just no more than an hour away. Look at how the hype around UNC has helped them bring in top talent (even though we will still beat them b/c we have the better coach ). You get the hype, you get the great recruits, and if you have a good coach (which we have), then you get the wins and championships. For once I'd like to see what it would be like for ESPN to be slurping our program.
