Long story short. Car tries to crank but it doesn't get there. Checked the code and got a P1192 but when I google it, there is no such code for chevy.
I already checked the modular, distributor cap, fuel pressure, and spark plugs. No luck in getting it fixed.
Any suggestions? 6/28/2009 5:03:37 PM |

What was the fuel pressure?
What did the plugs look like? What was the gap? How was the spark?
[Edited on June 28, 2009 at 5:13 PM. Reason : Who gave you that code and what other codes if any did you get?] 6/28/2009 5:12:46 PM |

over 40...looked closer to 45ish
One more bit of info. I did get it cranked once and it ran smoothly. Then I cut it off and tried to re-crank it and it wouldn't work.
I have an OBD-II reader. Didn't get any other codes. 6/28/2009 5:25:03 PM |

is it firing? 6/28/2009 9:10:29 PM |
StayPuff All American 5154 Posts user info edit post |
Yeah it is firing.
And like I said before, if it cranks then it runs fine. But it just won't crank.
The error description that jeepman posted doesn't make sense. That error is describing something in the exhaust. That wouldn't keep it from cranking would it? 6/29/2009 7:01:08 AM |

what is your key on engine off, and cranking fuel pressure?
are the injectors firing? you should be able to fire one at a time with a scantool to check
sounds like the ckp and cmp are either out of time or the cmp is bad
[Edited on June 29, 2009 at 7:52 AM. Reason : you can also pull the upper half of the intake and pull the injector nozzles out to check them] 6/29/2009 7:51:41 AM |

Quick Update...
For shits and giggles I decided to try to put more gas in even though I had 1/2 tank in there already. Then tried to crank it and it worked. I let it sit over night and tried it this morning and it cranked again.
Do you think it is possible that I had/have some water in my tank? 7/1/2009 8:12:54 AM |

you sure the fuel gauge is right? 7/1/2009 8:24:52 PM |
StayPuff All American 5154 Posts user info edit post |
Yeah I am sure the gauge is good. I can get around 300-330 on a tank of gas and I reset the tripometer each time I fill up so I know about how much further I can go without having to stop and get gas.
The tripometer was around 135 when I started having issues. I drove it around yesterday and didn't have any issues and it cranked this morning.
I am really stumped and I don't want to drive it too far away just incase I have this issue and can't get it cranked again. 7/2/2009 8:11:03 AM |

final update...I hope
Even though I was getting good fuel pressure, I decided that it wouldn't hurt to put a new fuel pump in. It was a pain in the ass to do but now that everything is put back together the blazer is working now.
I am hoping that was the problem.... 7/6/2009 10:31:32 PM |
