Pickens county explains it all. I used to live 15 mins from there. Pickens county is like the Johnston county of SC

It wasn't their house, they could have been housesitting or something.BTW, our God is an awesome God.

I never understood how someone, even someone who never swam before, could drown in a swimming pool ( besides small children)Isn't it just natural human instinct to doggie paddle, or at least waves your arms in a circular motion to stay afloat ?Do these people just jump in and panic, and give up all hope without every trying to make it 8 feet to the side ?Boggles the mind
6/30/2009 11:08:49 AM
^my thoughts exactly

If you are at the bottom of the pool, you could squat and push hard enough to get to the top. Worth trying if you are about to die. Or even walking to the shallow part while underwater.
6/30/2009 11:13:05 AM
i think the people just panic, though
6/30/2009 11:13:50 AM
how in the fuck do you not know how to swim

well, id say people drown because of panic, but if you jump into save someone presumably you are aware that you're going to be in water.
6/30/2009 7:33:43 PM

this is sad, what part of the body or brain are y'all missing that you dont feel sad about this
9/8/2009 9:09:34 AM
Anybody who's ever had a panic-stricken child try to climb on top of them in the water KNOWS how easy it is for even a good swimmer to drown when trying to rescue someone. Why jumping in should be the LAST resort, and it's much, much safer to throw 'em a rope, a pole, or other such object and fish them out.Unfortunately, very few people (amidst the general population, mind you) think of this.

Why would he want to use the pool if he can't swim?
9/8/2009 11:15:26 AM
the kid was wading in the shallow end, then went too deep.the worst part, in my mind, is the 7-year-old son watched it all happen.i don't know how anyone could laugh at this
