I played in the last beta and it was pretty good. Not amazing, but good enough to keep my interest, unlike most Korean mmos.

I actually preordered it, thinking it would be released on June 23rd (according to IGN). That wasn't smart, but at least I'm automatically in the remaining betas.

I played a gladiator up to lvl 12. Having wings is a cool little gimmick to have. Im thinkin I might pre-order.

I played a cleric for the first and second beta weekend, and an assassin for this past weekend. I like the skills they give you as scout/assassin. There's a lot of potential to burst someone, but you have to set everything up right and it's easy to fuck up.

I started a ranger this past beta weekend. Got him to 19, and I was very disappointed with it. Killing single same-level mobs seemed overly difficult. Other classes seemed to be grinding along quickly and easily. I checked out the forum on the publisher's website and found out the ranger is extremely weak in early levels; not blossoming until 28. Also, beta is running 1.0 and the retail version in Asia has gone through a few patches that give the class some buffs. Guess I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.

While its no WoW, it's a strikingly beautiful game thats easy to play and has few issues. There's even a bit of humor if you bother to read any of the quest dialogue. I would have no problem pre-ordering it. The only thing stopping me is a concern that I'll play too much. I don't know if I want to go back to life as an MMO player.

rangers blow :x dont play one unless you have a lot of friends. the games pretty sweet, i think the skill combos make it slightly more challenging than wow which im excited about ... a few less mouth breathing knuckle draggers is always a good thing.

^^^The beta schedule you were looking at is wrong. They've instead been doing a closed beta every odd weekend since the beginning of June, with Aug 14-17 being the last one. The devs are supposed to announce the open beta details next week, but I don't expect much. If you use twitter at all, follow the devs to get the most accurate news.

If you pre-order the game, you're guaranteed an opportunity to play in any beta tests.

Open beta started yesterday and it seems there's debilitating lag game-wide. I guess NCSoft did not prepare for the amount of players who would be joining the open beta.

yeah i dont know what the people screaming lag are talking about. ive got RR 7or8MB and i havent seen it at all, save for maybe one hiccup

only up to LVL 5 but ive only been able to play an few minutes at a time

once it gets closer to launch/prelaunch for those of us who preordered, we should pick a server for us all
i havent played an MMO since the first year of WoW so i'm a little out of the loop

We had a few bad lag spots throughout the day, but we would also have large chunks of time that went smoothly. It didn't keep us from playing and leveling.

i played Hunter in WoW and theres not really a comparable pet taming class, as spiritmaster you get elemental pets but nothing like "hey theres a badass tiger, ima tame it and make it my own"

theres a little thing that looks like pikachu and a squirrel combined, it'd be cool to have a pet at least be able to just follow you around

Is it better looking than WoW? Yes. Is it as well polished as WoW? Of course not. But it does play better even in beta than WoW did on its actual opening day. They did server maintenance today and after that I had no lag.

well the advertised difference is "flight". you get big ass designer wings that start out gliding and then you can do fulltime flight and even pvp midair.

how the fuck do you actually get the aion open beta key...i got the client, installed it, made an acct at ncsoft, and i have no idea what to do or how to actually create an aion acct...i think i need a key to do it or something
