On the off chance that this image doesn't load for you, it's a photo of a young woman wearing a dumb T-shirt and panties. The advertisement is for Snorg Tees. There are actually a lot of ads in this style for Snorg Tees, but they aren't the only ones who run them.

Now, I certainly understand why Snorg Tees runs ads like this one from the male perspective. Ooh, pretty lady, ha ha, funny shirt, buy shirt. Pretty straightforward, if personally insulting. Aside: I think their shirts are kinda crap in general, and this is coming from a dude who wears graphic tees practically every day of his life.

But what do you women think of this ad? Is it appealing to you in a way that gets you interested in the advertiser's product? If you were looking for a gift for a tee-appreciating person in your life, would this ad make you more or less likely to buy from this advertiser? And the biggest question: How would you do it differently?

I'm guessing the reason that type of advertisement is on this website is because it's a sausage fest here and they want to appeal to the masses.

Personally, it doesn't bother me at all - except for the whole "I'm at work and don't want a half naked chick on my page" kinda thing.

the ad does not appeal to me, and does not make me interested in the product

i don't think the shirt is very clever, so this ad has made me less likely to buy from them

i would redo the ad with a better, more clever shirt...and i'd put some damn pants on the girl since i would be wearing said shirt with pants. give me an idea on what it might look like, ya know?

adblock ftw

I understand why they do it, but I'm not going to buy shirts if they use ads that don't try to include everybody in their marketing campaign. Threadless (who I looove) has the best tshirt ads that I've seen online and I am much more likely to buy from them because they're creative, all about the shirt, and shows how the shirt fits real people. Threadless also shows people from the waist up and you can clearly read the shirts. They aren't all about the sex appeal which they're using to distract from the crappy shirt.

I would be much more likely to hang out with a threadless model than a snorg model, so that's a factor too. She is adorable but you can still see and focus on the shirt rather than her hands half in her panties.

I've pretty much had to stop posting on TWW lately while at work. The days here have gotten so slow and monotonous that I've had to look elsewhere for entertainment.

I had a friend (girl) who was a model for snorg back when they first got started. It's a pretty half-assed operation all the way around.

The less-than-stellar cleverness/humor of their tee's plus a blatantly sexually objectifying ad like that only reinforce the fact that they really have no clue what they are doing.

The shirt isn't really flattering on the model. If it's not super flattering on her, then it would look HORRIBLE on me. Thus, I wouldn't buy it. Advertising fail.

See how she's grabbing those panties, just waiting for you to tell her to take them off?

Yep, better buy the shirt.

The image is just a "recommended usage" that the company provides to invoke ideas of a desirable experience.

* Void where prohibited. Female and panties sold separately. T-Shirt does not guarantee the acquisition of a female.

i just saw another ad...the shirt said "Bacon Makes Everything Taste Better"

while i tend to agree, she was trying to eat the shirt in the photo while giving me the sexy eye and that was a little odd

I want to see this failure of a bacon eater son.

See, men are stupid because women make them so, but we can all agree that bacon does indeed make everything better.

The bottom half of the picture isn't appealing: sure, I'm used to seeing attractive women wearing clothes as a means for advertising (not that I really think we should be putting so much pressure on models, etc, but that's another topic), but I could do without the undies being a part of that. If they sold those undies it might make more sense. When I go to their website to click on women's shirts, almost all of them are just pictures of women wearing jeans with the t-shirt they're advertising (which, as miska pointed out, is how other sites do it). I'd probably be less likely to buy from them if their main pages were filled with nothing but half-naked girls like the one shown here: I just don't see that they really need to resort to pantsless advertising (they apparently realize that, which is why the parts of their website marketed to women don't push things like this). If the shirt is funny*, people will buy it anyway.

It actually makes me less likely to buy the shirt because I do not feel like that shirt would fit my fashion sense. If the girl were wearing it with something similar to what I would normally wear, I would be more persuaded. The fact that she is skinny and pantsless does not change my perspective.

If I put any real thought into stupid ads, I'd probably find myself as offensive as the ad. That could rip a hole in the fabric of space/time and that's the last thing I need right now.

This thread is based on the premise of women accurately telling you what they will do.
