It doesnt happen every time, but after a long workout session or pickup game where i sweat a lot, i get these salt deposits on my face (after the sweat dries). I don't look like Tony Montana when he slams his face into a pile of coke, but you can definitely see some residue.I don't eat canned soups, mcribs, or those hungry-man tv dinners, nothing in my diet has a considerable amount of salt in it.now my question is, am i eating too much salts, or is this just how my body functions? I'm in good shape, i don't have high blood pressure, i'm a healthy guy.i'll answer any other questions that might help you with your diagnosis.

yea i thought it was normal too, but one of my coworkers said he had these salt deposits lately and said he needed to watch his salt intake. his wife is a nutritionist so i thought there might be some credibility to it, got me thinking.

what vitamins/supplements do you take?do you drink a lot of gatorade/soda's?is this happening just recently, or has it been all your life?

i wanted newszimmerraft, but it's too many characters don't need a degree in biology to gain some common sense

no vitamins, i drink Whey Protein sometimes after my workouts (not often)It's been going on for i'd say 3 years.I used to drink gatorade but i drink milk, chocolate milk after i exercise now (doing so for about 4 months). Haven't drank soda in a long time, and when i did it wasn't a part of my normal diet, more of a special occasion thing.

that's slightly odd, are you getting enough water? you might want to get some blood work done about it, typically clinics don't charge much if at all to check your sodium levels. or ask to have it all done next time you're at the doctor.if you aren't cramping up a lot it is probably not a big deal.
7/10/2009 2:07:52 PM
i haven't had any cramps in over a year. I guess i'll bring it up casually next time i'm in the doctors office, but i thought we had plenty of doctors here on TWW. I guess with the bad economy they've picked up new professions and forgotten all that medical knowledge.[Edited on July 10, 2009 at 2:17 PM. Reason : oh yea, i drink plenty of water. there's no way that's the issue. ]
