Best Connectivity
USB to Serial Adapter
"ADA-USERIAL" is the model number.

I have the CD but it's one of those little CD's and I'm on a macbook so I can't use mini CD's . Don't have access to another computer until Monday and would like to get this shit going before then.

Searched on google and bing, didn't find shit.

HALP!

What company name is on the CD? Just go to their website and find a driver.

Half of the time those things work without drivers though.

And are you sure the Macbook can't use the mini cds?

If you can find the chipset type you can usually get the driver that way. Plug it in and open System Profiler and check the USB devices to see what device IDs its reporting, and search for drivers based on that.

i'm sure. they suck the CD's in.. i tried sticking it in there anyways and it just sat there lol. i had to shake the laptop to get it to come out

http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm

FTDI is a popular chipset maker

You might have to edit the plist with the vendor id if it's not there though.

If you can gently remove the casing from the end, you can see the chipset maker...

but barring that find the info from system profiler like this:

If you can find the driver download from the chipset maker, do what it says to do here, but use the kext for the serial driver, and the info from the serial adapter:

might just take this CD back to intrex and see if they can transfer everything to a flash drive real quick for me.

got the case off and there are two chips on the board. the board has U1RS232-C2 on it. the chips i really can't read without a magnifying glass lol.. well maybe i can. lemme try intrex first

really pissed that yesterday i reinstalled windows on an old lenovo that had a serial port. could have used that to get shit going on these routers

as a sidenote, Startech makes some good serial port expansion boards as well as adapters

at least for PCs, not too familiar with Macs
