joe_schmoe's recent quitting and then return as JoeSchmoe lead me to think about what it would take to successfully quit* TWW.

Short of death, what is required to be the first to ever successfully quit?

* By quit I mean, make a quitting thread, call some people out and then leave, never to return.

It is easy as hell to do. I've done it before, I'll do it again.

by not calling people out

remove all "friends" from tww from facebook/myspace
don't go to tww gatherings
change your password
remove it from bookmarks
remove it from recent websites
go out into the sun

It simply isn't possible. It's like trying to get out of the mob.

I like that one guy who never ever posts except to call people out and say he is quitting being a lurker.

Hmmm... She'd have to be pretty hot to put up with that for very long. But it wouldn't last.

I quit when my computer broke. But then I got a new one.

So pretty much having no internet would do it.

Its Idle Hands

Not Devin Sawa

but being on a computer without work that needs to be done at this very minute

This is a place to make the 9 hour days go faster, to space the gap between filing and cold calls

If 80 percent of TWW worked construction instead of Tech jobs

This place would have been dead a long time ago

It seems like I was gone for over a year. Voluntarily returned. If you want I could prove it starting now I guess.

The key would be for TWW to create no more hilarious threads. If there was ever an incredible lull of nothingness I'd be out.

well it sounds easy at least

I agree with Slave Famous on this one. I do 95% of my posting from work typically. If I had a job where I wasn't at a computer all day, then quitting would be a breeze.

100% of my posts happen at work currently because I do not have the internet outside of work.

Yes, Slave is right. I didn't post for a year or two when I didn't have time at work to surf the web. Then again, you can say the same thing about not having electricity. I typically only post from work and rarely read TWW when I'm not at work.

I only really use TWW after work to follow up on threads that I started/contributed to while I was at work

Like if I officially call someone out right before I leave for the day, I want to see their retort when I get home

I spend my whole commute thinking about it

the only time I am on TWW outside of work is if my gf is out of town and I don't have any plans outside of work. not because she doesn't want me on here, because she couldn't care less. but because i like spending time with her when I get home. i.e. fucking

see I dont have a gf

so its either TWW, the bars, or whacking to internet porn

and I usually prioritize in the reverse order of that

in my case, I have a really fucked up work schedule. I either get home at 3:30 or I get home at 8:30. When I get home at 3:30, it leaves plenty of time to get outside and do shit so there is no desire to sit inside on the computer. If I get off at 8:30, that pretty much just leaves enough time to make dinner , watch my shows on TV, and go to bed.

oh yeah, and fuck

The proven method is to buy the website. The owners always end up ignoring TWW.

I guess if you are in the field, but I posted for a LONG time behind a desk doing bids and site management.

KG. His two threads have expired. Perhaps on his third thread, he will change his pattern and deliver a lengthy toast to everything he likes about his favorite users.
