They removed the braces holding up what I like to call "the handle" on the Duke Energy Center just the other week. It's still on. If they have run out of money it sure doesn't seem like it since I see them working on it all the time.

The Vue building is going to be 51 stories, 667 feet tall, and the fourth tallest building in Charlotte when completed in 2010.

I think it makes since to me to build a skyscraper slightly outside of the center of the city. The land is cheaper, and with the projected growth of Charlotte bigger buildings will be around it in the next 10 or so years. Also the place is still close to everything, including the new North Carolina Music Factory which will be a big attraction in the upcoming years with the two live music venues and the bars there. Halo seemed pretty cool when I went two Saturdays ago for their rehearsal opening.

I had a good time there. I preferred the outdoor area b/c it wasn't as loud and had a cooler atmosphere. Plus this girl bartender out there was hot and made a mean Long Island.
