It's a bit over a year old..

15ish" screen
2.2ghz core 2 duo
2gb ram
80gb HD
2 chargers
built in bluetooth, wifi, etc..all the usual shit

has a little wear to the left of the track pad from my palm being on it all day. no scratches or anything like that as it just sits on a desk all day basically.

any ideas? i've looked around on eBay but prices vary too much for me to get any real idea. looking to get a tablet that i can actually use to take notes on in meetings and stuff.

this is why i don't buy mac's:

15.6 " WXGA LED Backlight TFT 1366 x 768
Intel T4200 (2.0GHz) Processor
2GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHz
250GB Hard Drive 5400
$399 new - http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/23003

it's probably not WORTH more than $400 technically speaking, but Apple fans will buy it for prolly $700 or so.

with a lower resolution and lower processor speed, it's not Apple hardware, won't run OS X, and it just happens to be on SD... yet you're comparing the two?

it's a little more complicated than that

not to mention that after over a year of using that thing 8+ hours a day it'd probably be fucking falling apart. the hinges would be floppy as shit, power adapter would probably be broken, some plastic part of the case would be cracked, etc.

not so much with apple

eBay completed listings tell me $700+ w/ at least a 120GB HDD (none had 80 gig drives), and $30ish for an extra plug

^^Those G550's are pretty flimsy. The parents have one and haven't liked it much. They're fine for a home-use computer that will sit in the living room or den all the time maybe, but that's about it. The hinges do not hold up to much and the battery life is pretty terrible even right after purchase. It also lacks a decent GPU+dedicated video RAM. It's not at all comparable to the particular computer he's offering. Now, for 399 it's not a bad deal- but your suggestion is either disingenuous or very ill informed.
