I have a weekly progress meeting on every Tuesday and I have a monthly progress meeting for four different projects on alternating Thursdays of each month at different times. Breakdown:

Every Tuesday of the month: 9:00a
1st Thursday of the month: 9:30a
3rd Thursday of the month: 10:30a and 1:30p
4th Thursday of the month: 1:30p (That's today)


All and all, T and Th I usually have a meeting. All other days are meeting free work days.

holy fuck. When I was at US Airways we had 1 meeting everyday for the entire engineering and maintenance dept. That was it. It was to get everyone on the same page. Took about an hour or so.

we're supposed to have a corporate wide ratio for meetings.... saying that the hours of meetings aren't to exceed XX per week, to ensure we have the chance to do our real work


what that really equates to is a shit ton of meetings being scheduled, and me having to work more (extra) hours to finish my work

The meetings that have never been shorter than 3 hours that your boss always schedules for 4:00pm. These are often teleconference calls that originate in a different time zone - one where the meeting is scheduled at a specific time where the person originating the meeting can have it right after their lunch and they make it go long enough to be able to go home as soon as the meeting is over.

That and those meetings would have ended after 2 and a half hours but the meetings always end with "are there any questions"? There is always a guy that has a million questions after every meeting. They are either stupid or are sucking up. Evey business has 'that guy'.

^^ I also hate being in meeting with "that guy" that routinely derails the meeting agenda with sidebar discussions...dragging the meeting on an additional 20, 30, 40 minutes.

HEY ASSCLOWN, MOST OF US HAVE SOMEWHERE ELSE TO BE. if you want to go off on a tangent, take it offline and discuss it after the meeting.

and its typically the owner who derails the meetings and we have 3-5 mini meetings in the real meeting
