So i was driving back from greenville on 64. I wasn't really paying attention but i was speeding like a madman and sure enough i saw the blue lights come on. i looked down at my speedometer and i was going 90, and this was in a 65 zone.

instantly my life started flashing before me. i knew i was at the point of no return. there was no going back. this was it.

i started going faster.......higher and higher the speedometer rose. 100....110....120....and he was still right behind me. i could only pray that the sign for nash county would be soon.

i saw the nash county line approaching and i immediately pulled over right after passing it. i knew the cop behind me was a pitt county sheriff. i pulled up behind the sign, got out of my car, and started pointing and laughing at him.

the moral of the lesson is that crime pays and if you are fast and clever enough you too can evade the police. so don't be afraid of burning up a little extra gas for the thrill of the speed and if you are lucky, the thrill of the chase.

as i understand it, it only matters where the violation occurred. If a cop observes you speeding in his jurisdiction, as long as you are prosecuted (issued the citation) for that county it doesn't matter where you stop.

even if this is true, and the fact that the county officer couldn't "cross the line" the cop can still detain you because in NC the police departments have reciprocity so he could detain you like I said until a Nash County cop arrived, or just radio in to the next county and as your ass is jumping around, pointing, and laughing, a Nash County cop would sneak up like a ninja coming out of the woodwork and taser the shit out of you.
