RIP. A genius and a gentleman.
The rest of the NFC can probably rest a little easier now.

Damn shame.
This guy always ran an exciting D.
Eagles are going to be hurt on D with his passing along with losing Dawkins. 7/29/2009 8:56:45 AM |

I agree that there may be a slight decline at first. But the same def is returning 10 starters. Minus Dawkins. The effects shouldn't be that noticeable. 7/29/2009 9:00:14 AM |

As an Eagles fan for a while now I always enjoyed watching their defense and the great blitz-schemes that Johnson used, and he truly was an amazing coach and seemed to be a nice guy. Definitely RIP Jim, you'll be missed. 7/29/2009 9:11:08 AM |

I had a ton of respect for the guy
I put JJ, Kiffin, and LeBeau in the same category as legendary defensive minds of our day 7/29/2009 10:44:59 AM |

He was pretty damn good. McDermott was there with him a long time though so I imagine he'll be running a very similar D. Still sad to see a guy this awesome and not too old die that way. 7/29/2009 2:32:03 PM |
